Experiential education at Brock University engages students in first-hand experiences in order to develop skills, clarify values, contribute to local and global communities, and make learning come alive. Twenty different types of experiential opportunities are built into the University’s courses (the 20 definitions have been approved by the University’s Senate) — from labs and simulations to practicums and internships. A team of Experiential Education Coordinators report to a central office, but are physically located across campus in the Faculties and/or Departments they support and work to support faculty and students, as well as liaise with community partners to embed experiential learning in academic courses.
