Esperanza Shelter has been offering domestic abuse services for more than 40 years, primarily serving Santa Fe County and the Eight Northern Pueblos in New Mexico. Esperanza’s mission is to empower people to live violence-free lives. We are a trauma-informed agency that utilizes experiential behavioral health interventions with clients in both individual and group settings. We acknowledge the societal impact of gender violence, misogyny and oppression and that violence prevention must include frameworks for human rights and social justice. All of our residential and non-residential services are provided at no cost. We accept intern applications for students in accredited Bachelors, Masters or PhD of Social Work programs or Masters or PhD programs in Counseling Psychology.
