Based in Wilmington, North Carolina, the National Center for Outdoor & Adventure Education (NCOAE) sets the standard for values-based outdoor adventure and education, personal growth, and professional development. The NCOAE core curriculum emphasizes the development of decision-making, communication, emotional intelligence, environmental stewardship, and the acquisition of technical skills. Our instructors merge experiential education with adventure programing and offer an unrivaled path to insight, joy, and drive.
While traveling in the backcountry of Alaska, the Himalayas, North Carolina, Patagonia, East Africa, or the Pacific Northwest NCOAE students learn how to be better stewards of our global community and improve their leadership skills. Course participants raft, surf, kayak, backpack, rock climb, and mountaineer throughout world, all while earning college or high school credit.
Whether you are a college student wanting a career in outdoor education, an adventurous teen that has financial need, an international travel junkie or a humanitarian, NCOAE has a course for you.
